I first found this book while I was creating a unit on music for 4 year olds. Thinking about introducing children to all kinds of music was a must and then i stumbled into the book. This is a simple yet complex book that celebrates jazz and and can be read straight forward or scatting. There a very few words per page but since it lends itself to sing itself, it is great fun to use in a group time or story time. The books has so many facets that can utilized in any environment. It can be used to learn jazz culture, music beats, basic rhythm and more. The book can also be used with music samplings from jazz or blues artists. It is a stellar addition to the classroom or home.

Also a ALA Notable Children's Book
