In this book on the great state of California, the author provides mini poems on 14 diverse cities in California including Los Angeles, Monterey and San Francisco. In the back of the book, there are facts on each of the 14 cities and many of the state facts. The illustrations make this book beautiful to look at and fun to learn from.

Activities:
School Age K-1. This book can be used in an overall look at California or taken in parts. With a classroom, you can make a life size map of CA and have the children move from city to city on the state map. You can also share travels and other highlights of the city. Once all mapped out on a large map, you can see if the children know other cities that are near the highlighted cities from the book. In addition, you can have the children draw themselves in one of the cities.
