Two Lives 2002
Felicia's Favorite Story is a story about a little girl wanting to hear how she was adopted by her two moms. The story is very child friendly and asks questions from the child's point of view. I think it is a great way to introduce children to different families, whether same sex or adoption.
Activities:
Social-emotional-Create your family story. A great way to create and share family stories. As they draw pictures, they can talk about their families. Try and use different elements, paint, crayons, fabric (for clothes) or other materials.
Transportation-The book also discussed how the moms went to get her in Guatemala. They discussed the best option was a plane, not a boat or car. This may also start the discussion about where families are from.
