Abuela

Abuela
Written by Arthur Dorros
Illustrated by Elisa Kleven
Dutton Childrens Books 1991

Abuela is a beautiful story about a little girl traveling around her city and spending time with her grandmother. They fly around the town and go on adventures and the illustrations are so detailed that the discussion is endless. It incorporates Spanish phrases and a glossary in the back to help decifer them and learn them yourself.

Activities: This is a great book for transportation. From taking the bus, to airports and ships, this is a great way to show illustrations in normal activity. The book also allows for i-spy games and creating your own adventure once they return to the park,
