Mouse Paint

Mouse Paint
Written & Illustrated by Ellen Stoll Walsh
Voyager Books 1989

One of my favorite books to teach preschoolers and Kindergartners about the color spectrum. This book is about three mice that jumped into paint and then as jumping into puddles of paint, found out they could make different colors by mixing some colors together. Ultimately, they stuck with white to conceal themselves from the cat.

Activities:
PS-Working with finger paints or if you are brave using feet, have your child or students mix paints to see how they change and then paint with them.
School Age: With older kids, you can still mix the paint but I would do it in bowls and the have them place in order and try and guess why adding more of one color changes the hue of the paint.
